1st Class Credit Union – International Women’s Day 2024
For this year's International Women's Day 2024 some of our amazing female staff highlighted themselves or where highlighted by a colleague. Read about them below.
Lorraine Brown
For International Women’s day I would like to mention one of my colleagues, Lorraine. Lorraine has been a part of the loans team for two years and has shown amazing growth and confidence since joining the 1st Class team. Lorraine has been a vital part of the loans team and has gone above and beyond to make sure every new member of the team feels welcomed and included. The feedback I always receive from new colleagues is that Lorraine is very approachable and friendly.
Hayley Forrester
For International Women’s day, I would like to mention one of my colleagues, Hayley. Hayley first started her journey with 1st Class Credit Union as an apprentice within the member services team. Due to Hayley's hard work and determination, she managed to complete the apprenticeship 4 months early resulting in a full-time position with member services. After spending one year within the member services team Hayley was allowed to be part of the loans team as a loan officer, where she has been a great asset to the team.
Hayley has also continued her personal development and education through a 12-month Credit Union Future program which she will graduate from this March. During the program, Hayley has written an in-depth paper on our credit financial ratios and has completed a paper on a new idea that would help benefit the credit union sector. As Hayley's manager, I have seen massive personal and professional growth since joining the team and I look forward to seeing what the future holds for Hayley.
Brenda Morgan
My background was in the fitness industry, and I started as a personal trainer/instructor in 1998. An injury put an end to my running and teaching though I am still passionate about the gym and remain very active. I have completed over 50 10k runs and completed 22 half marathons. I am also on the board of directors for 1st Class Credit Union, and I am active in my role as the Consumer Duty Champion.
I am currently a civil servant and have been working for the Department for Working Pensions for over 17 years. My current role is a decision maker though I am also Chairperson of the department's Social Club where I organise various nights and events.
Jane Mitchell
Jane has been a part of the team at 1st Class Credit Union for almost 14 years. She has been our Finance Supervisor within the Finance Team for several years, performing an integral role in ensuring our daily banking operations are completed and assisting in monitoring our annual budget. Jane is always there to lend a hand when needed, and her vast knowledge of the credit union is greatly appreciated by all her colleagues.
We are super lucky to have Jane as a member of the 1st Class CU team and appreciate all that she does for us!
